In partnership with DWP Architects, Lat27 was engaged to design and document a Community Garden for the St Lucia University of Queensland campus.

The aim of the garden is to showcase the University of Queensland’s community & sustainability ethos. The chosen site is located at the entrance to the campus and will also serve as a formal arrival to the campus for visitors.

The primary drivers for this garden include:

  • Creation of a formal arrival to the campus
  • Provide a productive garden of a high standard
  • Take advantage the natural landform of the site
  • Celebration of views and capturing breezes across the site
  • Create shaded passive gathering opportunities
  • Integrate with the existing campus design aesthetic and materiality
  • Enhance accessible connectivity across the site
