A Functional Design Brief to guide the development of a significant new Outdoor Event Space for Logan.

Date2015 - 2016

Logan City Council (LCC) is considering the development of a significant new outdoor event space to meet community needs, including celebrating Logan’s vibrant multi-cultural performance arts scene and contributing to a growing tourism sector.

Lat27 worked closely with LCC’s Sports, Leisure and Facilities branch to consult with a wide range of stakeholders across Council to understand and gain consensus on the aspirations and technical requirements for the space. With the assistance of Design Stage, we developed a Functional Design Brief for the space that identifies:

  • the vision for the Outdoor Events Space
  • intended users and user groups
  • existing and potential events that would use the space
  • key functional and technical design requirements

The brief provides a framework with sufficient detail to enable LCC to consider budget implications and to explore and identify a suitable location for the venue.

Going forward, it will assist Council to provide a clear brief to engage consultants for the master planning and architectural design of the facility.
