Award2013 Australian Institute of Landscape Architects Queensland - Medal for Landscape Architecture for Research & Communication

Between floods, and with the passing of time, it’s easy to forget the perils of living so close to the water, and our lives naturally refocus on the pleasures of engaging with our rivers and waterways.  Flood of Ideas is an online forum gathering diverse and creative ideas for how we plan and respond to floods and natural disasters in our community.

Lat27 collaborated with the EDGE and Healthy waterways to develop the Flood of ideas website. By collecting and documenting a broad range of community ideas and responses to the flood, Flood of Ideas aims to ensure that future generations, and those of us who will still be here next time, will reap the benefits of sharing our experiences.

Lat27 was awarded the 2013 QLD Medal for Landscape Architecture (AILA), for our role in this project. The Medal is the State’s highest industry award for landscape architecture.
