Initially engaged to undertake the preparation of a structure plan for the Elizabeth Road Reserve, Lat27 continued involvement in this project by preparing the Landscape Master Plan.

The master plan efficiently arranged sporting facility footprints and established the long term landscape vision for the Reserve. Revegetation opportunities were also identified to reinstate areas of the site not utilised for sports facilities. Key site planning and design drivers of the project included:

  • A master plan sensitive to the intrinsic character of the site that fosters a sense of place;
  • A master plan that engenders community involvement and has acceptance of all stakeholders;
  • Minimal impacts on residents adjacent the site;
  • Improved safety, security and amenity values for the site;
  • A range of spaces that facilitate safety, access and connectivity for all users;
  • Logical cost effective design outcomes;
  • A master plan that facilitates sustainability, optimises the use of the site and is practical to implement; and
  • Indicative and realistic costings for the proposal.

The process required consultation with key Moreton Bay Regional Council stakeholders and development of a final report for consultation with the local community.
