Landscape Planner

We are now recruiting for an experienced Landscape Planner to join our Brisbane studio that will offer the right candidate an exciting opportunity to be part of state-shaping energy and infrastructure projects.

Lat27 is a multidisciplinary design studio offering services in landscape architecture, landscape planning, urban design, architecture and visual communication. We approach problem solving through strategic and innovative thinking that is visionary, inclusive, market responsive and deliverable. At the heart of Lat27 is a partnership of respected industry leaders with extensive national and international experience delivering award winning projects.

Due to a strong backlog of renewable energy and transport infrastructure projects, we are currently seeking a Landscape Planner (recent graduate to around 5 years’ experience, but other experience levels may be considered) to join the Lat27 team; an individual who will contribute to the studio environment in a participative approach and become a key team member. This role includes the core required skills in the field of landscape planning relating to landscape and visual impact assessment, landscape character assessment, landscape strategy and landscape and visual policy development. The applicant must be willing to travel to undertake field assessment work. 

We work closely with our clients; therefore, the person requires excellent verbal and written communication skills. The Landscape Planner is required to liaise with clients and the studio team to ensure the highest levels of service are achieved.

The Landscape Planner is required to have advanced skills in the MS Office Suite (particularly MS Word). Proficiency in the Adobe CS suite and/or experience with GIS or AutoCAD would also be considered favourably. They will also have:

  • Qualifications in landscape architecture or a closely-related field
  • A strong interest and ideally, prior experience in landscape planning techniques
  • Excellent written English and grammatical skills
  • Exceptional analytical skills including technical report writing
  • Some recent/post graduate experience (preferable)
  • Photographic skills
  • The ability to prioritise multiple projects and deadlines and employ self-discipline to complete required workloads
  • Ability to critically review their own work to achieve exceptional outcomes
  • A current driver’s licence valid for Queensland
