The Mackay City Centre is the principal activity centre of a growing region moving towards a population of 200,000 by 2031.

Lat27 partnered with Deicke Richards who led an EBD workshop as the initial step in the preparation of a Local Area Plan and an exciting exploration of the Centre’s future shape and character. The workshop goal was to identify ideas and initiatives that will maintain and strengthen the City Centre as the principal activity centre and is a distinctive, diverse, attractive and sustainable urban environment.

Post-workshop, our ongoing role focussed in greater detail on public realm design for the City Core area, priority precincts, key sites of interest and key linkages as well as exploring urban enhancement opportunities and development options.
