LatStudios are honoured to have won an award at the 2022 Queensland State Architecture Awards on Friday. Our University of Queensland Gatton Campus Entry and Heart project was recognised with an award for Urban Design. This follows the Commendation we received at the Darling Downs and West Moreton Regional Awards last month.

LatStudios was engaged as project lead as both Architect and Landscape Architect.

This project strengthens the connections between the campus’s historic and contemporary fabric. Our design delivers a vibrant central green heart that unifies the campus and is complemented by new activated places for outdoor learning and social gathering.

Thank you to our trusting client, the University of Queensland, and our collaborative team, Naturform, Bligh Tanner, the McKenzie Group Consulting, MultiTech Solutions and Irrigation Design Australia for their incredible efforts in assisting us to create a new entry and heart for the UQ Gatton campus.

A big thank you to the AIA Queensland State Jury and congratulations to all the other nominees and winners!

This project is now shortlisted for the National Architecture Awards in November.
